Swim and Stroke Lessons
Due to COVID-19, Swim and Stroke lessons are cancelled for the 2020 season. Below is information regarding our swim and stroke lessons for future reference.
Arlington Forest offers swim and stroke lessons for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Please place your child in the appropriate level to the best of your ability. There will be some shifting of levels the first day of class to assure your child will be in the group that fits him or her best. Your instructor will let you know when your child has completed the level and is ready to move to the next. Lesson sign up is managed in our eSoft Membership Portal.

Swim Lesson Overview
The swim lesson program at AFC consists of 3 different levels which are dedicated to teaching children the fundamentals of swimming, culminating in the development of a rudimentary freestyle and the basic skills of backstroke. Please see the tables below that outline minimum class requirements, focus and completion requirements for each level.
Note: classes are divided by age and skill level. This program consists of 3 different levels. It is expected that swimmers will continue in the same level for more than one session.
Stroke School Overview
Stroke School - School Age
The stroke school program at AFC is for more advanced swimmers, ages 6 and up, who want to further develop the freestyle and backstroke technique in addition to learning the other two competitive strokes of breaststroke and butterfly. Please see the tables below that outline minimum class requirements, focus and completion requirements for each level.
Note: Evening lessons will only offer a Level 1 class. The class will focus on freestyle and backstroke but will also introduce breast and fly.
Advanced Stroke Clinic
The advanced stroke clinic at AFC is primarily for those swimmers who want to legalize and further refine their breaststroke and butterfly. This class will be taught by senior instructors.

Notices: Swim & Stroke Lessons
Classes with less than 3 children registered will be canceled | No refunds for missed classes or classes cancelled because of pool closure | One make up class will be offered for weather or pool closure | Registration closes Wednesday night prior to Monday class start | Make-up days are Fridays except where otherwise noted | If there is a storm or heavy rain, a class will be cancelled. Decisions are usually not made until 15 minutes prior to the class start time as weather changes rapidly | Check Twitter @AFCSwimLessons for the latest information.
